Meow. Ah-hem. *taps keyboard*
I know it’s been a while since I posted but–as you all know–it’s been a really crazy two years. Can you believe that darn virus is still circulating? Did you know there is a vaccine for animals other than humans? Zoos and other animal caretakers have been vaccinating lions, tigers, gorillas, chimps, mountain lions, baboons, wolves and more. Deer, mink, and other animals have also been testing positive.
I went to the doctor this week but the only vaccine I got was rabies (owie, my leg is sore). There is an experimental covid vaccine for cats and dogs, but it isn’t needed at this point (according to scientists). It doesn’t seem that cats and dogs spread the virus to humans–in fact, we usually get it FROM our humans. That explains the cold I had when Mom had Covid. But we snuggled and kept warm and rested until we felt better.
Mom insisted I post the photo she took of me at the vet. I was trying to look scary, but she thinks I look “adorable”. Psssh.
If you haven’t seen the monthly newsletter lately, you’ve missed my new column on cool moon facts and mythos. I’ve always loved the moon (hey, if it’s really cheese, I call dibs!). Anyway, don’t miss the new revamped newsletter–I hear Cece is also doing a column. I love that fluffball.
I hope you all have wonderful holidays, and if you get the chance, step out in the moonlight and make a wish on a star. We’ve all been locked up in our homes too long and there’s nothing like a bit of nature to help us remember what’s important.
