Wow. So many options. Do you ever feel like you have too many projects? Too many stories? It’s a good feeling in some ways, but in other ways it’s a writer’s ADD nightmare.
I’ve found that making a schedule really helps me. Yeah, I’ve always been a scheduler, list-maker, and clock-watcher. Sometimes I get really obsessive about it. Okay, I am always obsessive. It’s really the only way to get things done.
I do limit myself to two or three WIPs at a time. I’ll alternate days working on each, or even work an hour on each then repeat. How about you? Do you like to switch between projects? I’m trying to figure out if it is better to take ONE thing and finish it, or simultaneously work on a couple.
I think, as I get into “writer as a job” mode, I’ll figure it out. One way or another. I’ll tell you, though, it is super awesome to have blocks on my schedule for playing guitar, sewing, painting, and even just hanging out with the family. I have missed these activities!
Friday, I’ll be participating in a major blog hop with other authors from Decadent Publishing. Join us for some awesome prizes. 🙂
Happy Thanksgiving to my American friends!
