My chosen guys in Spanish Nights are musicians. Daron and Orlando are guitarists who meet initially at an elite guitar retreat. Daron is a well-known musician in the United States, Orlando is a street musician from Spain and they have very little language in common…
Other than the language of music. When both are stuck in the airport on the way home, they jam together and that lights a spark. Before you know it, Daron changes his plans to fly to Seville with Orlando thinking he’ll be there a week or two.
The two men still can’t communicate well through words, but musically they grow closer and closer. Orlando teaches Daron about flamenco. Drawing on his own past experiences, Daron teaches Orlando how to be a better street musician. At the same time their musical collaboration is growing, so is the physical relationship between them. Daron isn’t sure what the sex between them means but he finds for once in his life he’s willing to let it happen without asking too many questions. After all, he might not understand the answers in words, but he understands them loud and clear with the guitar and in Orlando’s bed.
I had a lot of fun creating a relationship between two men have an intense, passionate love affair, but can’t really do a lot of discussing of their relationship. This turns out to be perfect for Daron, who is on the rebound from a relationship where they talked everything to death, and for Orlando, whose way of dealing with family drama is not to talk about it in the first place.
